All attacks, all surprises, all charms, all disgusts, all is only profusion. Noises, odors, omnipresent crowd, colors, extreme misery and extreme splendour, mountains of refuse and temples of a beauty to cut the breath, beggars emaciated and women with the paces of princesses in their blazing saris, cows walking nonchalamment in the medium of a vibrating crossroads or elephant with the turning of a lane following its mahout wisely, without forgetting the passers by which propose thousand wonders to you, ask you thousand questions, disfigure you by balancing the head. India will not be able to leave you indifferent.
